Homework: Reading at home. There is NO additional assigned daily homework , however; there may be unfinished classwork that needs to be completed. No late assignments except for absences. Check student planner, refer to your child's I-READ bimonthly check off sheet, look through your child's Wednesday folder, AND keep up to date on your student's grades by accessing their I-NOW account.
Each week:
Independently read for 80 minutes per week (think: 20 minutes a night but fit it in when your time allows so you may want to do 80 minutes over the weekend) and students will record what they are reading in the back of their Making Meaning: Student Response Book which is kept at school. Students are expected to keep their Reading Log current and share their progress at their student/teacher conferences.
