Grammar instruction and application is integrated into the student's writing process. We follow HCS' district adopted program of Being A Writer.
However, a grammar skill is highlighted each week. The skill is discussed in class on Mondays with use of grammar workbook and practice of a grammar review sheet which is due by Thursday. Students will have a grammar test every Friday as well as apply the skills into their writing.

We write daily in our journals and produce long term writing pieces with an emphasis of persuasive writing. The organizational method we use for our long-term writing pieces is a "4 square" method.
